Dreary skies in LA won’t hold me back from wearing a bright floral button-down. When the sun disappears and rain falls in LA everyone cries, literally we sob. We slip into a massive depression, starting to re-evaluate our lives and existence in this city.

I finally had a little taste of summer weather this past weekend when LA had a little heat wave passing through. Then of course, typical LA, with her wishy-washy weather fell below 60 per usual.
When grey skies pass through LA, it gives me a reason to dress down in casual basics and sneakers. The temperature isn’t really a factor, because it’s normally mild and cool in LA on a daily basis. It’s the grey sky that makes me want to throw on jeans, sneakers and my favorite knee length coat.
After spending the weekend in Scottsdale Arizona, the last day was full of relaxation and wondering. My photographer, and boyfriend, caught the sun right as it was setting. We took a few photos, packed up our car and headed back to LA.
Incase you haven’t seen this Zara skort enough on everyone; here’s my version 2.0 (since I’ve already worn the white one last month). By the way, this jacket is everything to me.
It’s incredibly ironic that I have a closet full of clothes and 3 of my favorite pieces belong to my boyfriend. Go figure all 3 of them are button down shirts. All three are my go-to button downs, and even more ironically, he purchased each one at Wasteland (vintage re-sale store). What’s the deal with girls stealing their boyfriend’s flannel/denim/white button downs?
This past weekend I finally made it out to explore Scottsdale Arizona. I was in my very first wedding as a bridesmaid to one of my oldest girlfriends. The weekend was a blur of bridesmaid festivities and events, however I did manage to plan 2 different slots of time to shoot, this being the first set of photos. My boyfriend and I came across this adorable café, Isabella’s, that had a beach bar feel, with almost all the seating being located outdoors overlooking a golf course. We loved it so much we shot there, and ate there twice during our 3 day stay.
It’s coincidence that my entire outfit ended up taking me back to some part of my childhood, growing up in the nineties. Originally I was more than enthusiastic about bringing back the “fanny pack”, something I hold dear to my nineties heart.
Much like I become attached to a new song, by playing the hell out of it, I develop this deep love with new and not so new pieces in my wardrobe. Me wearing these Anine Bing boots in over 5 outfit posts in only the past 2 weeks, is me treating them as I treat my favorite song. The boots are going to be the sound track to my summer.
My absolute favorite thing about taking road trips versus flying, is stumbling across pockets of beautiful scenic areas. Every time my boyfriend and I road trip we almost always decide in a split second to pull over and start shooting. It’s never planned or mapped out. I almost feel as if these beautiful places along the way get inside my head and pull my car off the road.
